How can I create alternative streams or channels on AzuraCast?
Ever thought of configuring your own radio station on your own terms? AzuraCast is an open-source web radio management solution that allows users to create, manage, and customize streaming radio channels. It provides an all-in-one solution for both novice and experienced radio station owners, allowing you to build a powerful and reliable radio station with no fuss and no complicated software to install.
In this article, we will explain how to create additional streams or channels in your AzuraCast setup. This means you can offer multiple broadcast formats or settings with a single installation and all centrally managed.
Setting Up Alternative Streams
The main step to adding additional streams in AzuraCast is to configure each separate stream. In the AzuraCast control panel, open the “Current Instance” settings page and select the “Mount Points & Streams” tab. To begin, click the “Add Stream” button.
Next, you’ll need to provide a couple of details to identify the stream. The “Display Name” should be a friendly name you can easily recognize. The “Source Password” is an internal secret that will be used to ITS’ the password to any remote device you use to connect to this stream.
Once you have completed setting up the basic fields, click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page.
Mount Points
The next step to set up your additional streams is to add a mount point for each stream. This will be the URL that your users will use to access the stream. To add a mount point, click the “Mount Points & Streams” tab in the “Current Instance” settings page of your control panel.
Then click the “Add Mount Point” button. You will be prompted to provide the streams address, port, and type. Make sure you enter the same values as you used when creating the stream. This will ensure your users can connect to the stream.
Finally, click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page.
External Sources
AzuraCast also supports external streams and audio sources. To setup an external source, click the “Mount Points & Streams” tab in your AzuraCast control panel and select the “External Sources” tab. Click the “Add Source” button and select the source from the list of compatible options.
You will then need to provide a few details for the source such as the title, description, and a logo. Once you have finished entering the details, click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.
